Santa and Mrs. Claus give the Holiday Season its traditional start on Saturday, November 28 when their tugboat chugs into the Historic Downtown Petaluma turning basin around noon.
Santa and Mrs. Claus have come to the area by tugboat since a time long ago when Petaluma’s thick fog grounded their reindeer and forced the Claus’ to take the Petaluma River into town. The trip by tugboat went so well, that is how Santa and Mrs. Claus have arrived at the Golden Eagle Shopping Center ever since.
A variety of performers will be on hand to entertain the crowd as they await the arrival of the tugboat Petaluma. After Santa and Mrs. Claus make their way from the boat dock to the shopping center, they will greet the children and hand out candy canes.
