please add contact info for folks that are adding events As the 'keeper' of the calendar, I would like to contact the person that has submitted the event request for several reasons. The person may have ommitted vital info, I may not believe that the event meets criteria for public designation, etc. But there is no way to contact, maybe you could require contact info for addmission request. |

Re: please add contact info for folks that are adding events An contact field is a good idea, but I don't think we can make it mandatory. ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |

Re: please add contact info for folks that are adding events I suppose we can add that as an option.. We'll have to think of where to put it, and a mechanism for allowing it to be updated. Maybe we can append it to the event description field so that it can be changed/removed at the discretion of the calendar owner. ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |

Re: please add contact info for folks that are adding events If someone wishes to post an event to a calendar, they should be willing to identify themselves. Anonymous postings especially if direct postings are allowed are a way to hide behind an unwillingness to be up front on things. The only way now to counteract 'suspicious' postings is to arbitrarily delete a posting 'on suspicion' it may be either invalid or malicious. Having the need to include an e-mail contact point just makes good administrative sense in my view. I really can't see any good reason to not provide such a safeguard. Even if direct postings are not allowed, right now there's no way to 'speak' to the prospective poster to either clarify a posting or give guidance on the use of any localendar calendar. |
