I think your calendar is fairly awesome. Thank you. I was looking at improving my website speed (http://www.esquimaltmfrc.com) and ran some tests. Is there a way for me to do the following things? How would I do it? 1. Specify image dimensions http://www.localendar.com/images/close.gif (Dimensions: 12 x 12) (26 uses) 2. Leverage browser caching http://www.localendar.com/js/PublishedIncludeMini.js (expiration not specified) http://www.localendar.com/js/jquery/btips/excanvas.compiled.js (expiration not specified) http://www.localendar.com/js/jquery/btips/jquery.bgiframe.min.js (expiration not specified) http://www.localendar.com/js/jquery/btips/jquery.bt.js (expiration not specified) http://www.localendar.com/js/jquery/btips/jquery.hoverIntent.minified.js (expiration not specified) http://www.localendar.com/js/jquery/jquery.blockUI.js (expiration not specified) |

We do routinely use Yahoo's YSlow and Google's PageSpeed on some of these items. In some cases, some of the settings result in extremely minimal performance gains while potentially effecting the end-user experience. The worse thing we want to happen is for a user's browser (or their ISP) to incorrectly cache old js files and potentially serve stale versions. On the dimension front, we should have a size, but I will also point out more importantly that the browser should cache it after the first read. The re-size is strictly a client-side activity (and not even milliseconds in this case) ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |
