ROMILLY PARK TO RHOOSE POINT, WITH LOTS INBETWEEN !

This enjoyable walk takes us from Romilly Park and on to view a number of sweeping veiws along Barry's stunning coast. We will make our way to Rhoose Point and then on to Porthkerry Village.

As we drop back down into Porthkerry Park there is the opportunity to enjoy refreshments at Caffè Matteo before returning through Cwm Barri to the start of our walk.

 7/8 Moderate Miles, Bring Packed Lunch,

Meating at 10am in the Gorsedd Stone Circle at the top end of Romilly Park. CF62 6NW. ( There is plenty of on street parking.)

Cwm Carn Forest, Twmbarlwm Hill Fort and the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal

The walk climbs from the Cwm Carn carpark and visitor centre along the bank of the Nant Carn and then through the forest to reach the hill-top fort of Twmbarlwm, a spectacular 360o viewpoint with views from the Severn Estuary to the Brecon Beacons, Black Mountains and the Vale of Usk. The route descends to the Monmouthshire and Brecon industrial heritage canal above Risca and Cross Keys and follows the towpath back to the visitor centre.

Please bring a packed lunch.

Croquet taster

Spend an hour or so trying out Croquet in an idyllic spot south of Bridgend, including playing a simple game. Equipment and tuition will be provided. Please wear flat soled shoes eg trainers. Cost: £5 per person Lawn fees (free to anyone who wants to just come and watch). Booking is not essential, but it would be useful to know who's coming to give us an idea how many lawns to lay out. Parking onsite, carsharing advised.

Frampton walk and open gardens

Sunday 24th May: Frampton on Severn - 6-7 miles, easy

Join us for a leisurely walk through and around this delightful English village, once noted for “The longest village green in the Kingdom”. See Georgian and Tudor houses, the River Frome, two churches and the Sharpness Canal. Meet at 11am for 11.15am start near the Bell Inn, The Longest Village Green, Frampton on Severn, GB GL2 7EP. BPL. There will be a display of classic cars on the common. In the afternoon starting at 1.30 pm there is an open garden event.

There will be two options today. The full 7 mile walk led by Chris or a shorter walk returning to the common for 13.30 to start the garden tour. There is a £5 charge for the garden tour.
