Join Roger on a Coed Ruperra Conservation trust Sunday working party.COG contributed some of the Three Peaks profit to plant and maintain new trees to help carbon offsetting and support local wildlife ad the environment generally.

Margam Castle and Dear Park.

This beautiful, moderate 8/9 mile walk takes us past the formal setting of Margam Castle and gardens, then on through the extensive park lands to discover Margams deer Hurd before making our way up onto the high lands to enjoy wonderful views over The Bristol Channel and surrounding countryside .

We will leave at Chapter 9.15 am prompt and meet up at the park entrance cabin and W.C's which is located at the top end of Margam Parks main car park to start our walk at 10 o'clock, prompt.

There is a £6.00 charge to park at Margams main Carpark, but entrance to the castle and park are free. So, please join me at Chapter or shair your journey with a friend for both economical and environmental reasons.

Bring Packed Lunch.

Llantwit Major and Coast - Postponed

A public transport walk. 6 miles easy starting from Llantwit Major Station Car Park at around 10am - precise time to be confirmed. We will take a scenic route to the coastal path and beach returning to the town and finishing with refreshments at a suitable pub.The walk will also allow exploration of the town's history and ancient buildings.Departure time from Cardiff central to be confirmed, return time flexible. Pontypool Ridgeway

12 miles. Catch 09:28 train from Cardiff Central or meet at Pontypool and New Inn Station Car park at 10:05. Passing the impressive gates of Pontypool Park we will head up to the Ridgeway for views extending across the Severn Estuary to the Somerset coast. Following the Ridgeway northwards, passing the Folly Tower and up to the trig point on Mynydd Garn Wen before descending along packhorse trail bordered by ancient beech trees to return via the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal.BPL contact Jane O on 07539 339896 or

Welsh Cakes & Welliesw family walk

Approx 4 1/2 miles  circular walk crossing fields through enchanted woodland & then down to the coast at Monknash and up to Nash Point Lighthouse .

Steep in a couple of sections & unsuitable for pushchairs. Delightful dogs welcome , if well behaved owners are kept on leads. BPL and sturdy footwear essential.

Due to cliff edges , parents of younger children should be careful & on these short stretches dog should be on their lead.

Ample parking at meeting point , Plough & Harrow & youngsters  might wish to bring a football.Walk starts 11 am , from pub CF71 7QQ.

There are 2 pubs on the route which serve drinks & food for a warming refreshment stop. Those wishing to do shorter walk , can simply return to start from MOnknash beach - approx 2 1/2 miles instead.

If weather is particularly wet & windy, I 'll source a  more suitable walk.

Discription;a mixture of open country tracks paths, and road walking.A couple of potential boggy sections.Starting at park opposite Ty Ebbw Fach,Six bells,nr Abertillery.Post code NP13 2ND.Total milage15 miles with 2,145 feet of ascent.
