| | All Day Circular, scenic, hilly, walk, 7 miles moderate - Caerphilly Mt area
Lovely varied walk in the fields, common land and woodlands surrounding Caerphilly Mt. Sunday lunch at Travellers Rest Inn is an option at the end of the walk. Meet 9:15 for 9:30 start from Travellers Rest Inn car park, Caerphilly. Circular, scenic walk up to 7 miles. Starting in the car park at the Travellers Rest Inn we’ll head down the road and take a left turn onto the Cambrian Way. After crossing a golf course and bridge over a stream we’ll head up through some sheep fields towards the top of Caerphilly Mt. After descending the common we’ll head into mixed woodland and make our way through forest tracks and up hill again towards the old quarry. We’ll rejoin the Cambrian Way through old beech woodland and make our way back up towards the Travellers Rest Inn. The route may be done in reverse, and shortened, depending on weather conditions. It’s likely to be muddy, slippery and uneven in places so good boots and walking poles are advised. We will take a short break along the route but no “packed lunch” break. For those who would like a Sunday lunch, or a drink, when we return to the inn, please text me by Dec 30th (mobile below). I have to give them numbers so they can set aside the group seating.
