<title><![CDATA[Cooking Class & Dinner: A Vegan Holiday Meal]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[(Sat, 14 Nov 2009  4 PM - 7:15 PM EST)
<p><br />Prepare for holiday cooking with this combination demonstration and hands-on cooking class, which concludes with sitting down together for a lush vegan holiday dinner that we have prepared ourselves.<br /><br />Our instructor, Chef Didi Emmons, has cheffed at some of Boston&#39;s finest restaurants, is author of two award-winning vegetarian cookbooks, and studied at La Varenne Ecole de Cuisine in Paris.&nbsp; </p><p>3:50 PM - Check in<br />4:00 PM - Class begins - goes till 7:00-ish, including dinner<br /><br />We will begin with a 45 minute menu discussion and technique demo by Chef Didi of all the recipes.&nbsp; Then we will move into the Cafe&#39;s big kitchen for a hands-on session, where we will all learn to prepare what has been demonstrated.&nbsp; Then we will sit down and enjoy a full meal that we have prepared.<br />&nbsp;<br /><br />* Shredded Beet, Apple, and Currant Salad with Apple Cider Dressing<br /><br />* Cornmeal Butter-drop Biscuits (from Bryant Terry)<br /><br />* Shepard&#39;s Pie:&nbsp; with Turnip Potato Puree, Chopped Chard, &quot;Meat&quot; of Wild Mushroom/Cashews, Shallot Gravy with a Fresh Cranberry Sauce<br /><br />* Chocolate Pecan Pudding Pie (inspired by Bryant Terry)<br /><br /><br />$38&nbsp; - includes recipes, instruction (demo and hands-on), and full dinner with dessert... and we&#39;ll have fun!&nbsp; No credit cards.<br /><br />Ask for registration info at info@bostonveg.org<br /><br /><br />LOCATION:<br /><br />Haley House Bakery Cafe<br />2139 Washington St. (corner Dade St.)<br />Dudley Square, Boston<br />617-445-0900<br /><br />The Cafe is set back in a parking lot,&nbsp; It is opposite the Hamill Gallery.&nbsp; It is 1.5 blocks from the intersection of Washington St. and Melnea Cass Blvd.<br /><br />Free parking lot on site.&nbsp; Silver Line stops 1.5 blocks away on Washington St. at&nbsp; Melnea Cass Blvd.</p>]]></description>
