(Wed, 25 Nov 2009 1 PM - 4 PM EST)
Prerequisite: Bowl Turning 1 or approved equivalent experience.

This course will help the somewhat experienced bowl turner to advance. Natural edge bowls will be explored, and a variety of shapes and forms will be studied as the course progresses. We will go from open forms to more enclosed or vessel-like forms. Texturing will also be explored. Emphasis here is on practicing and learning techniques. All tools and supplies will be provided. This is a course that can easily be taken several times to practice and develop bowl turning techniques and to explore alternate shapes and forms.

Turning Bowls with Richard Raffan is a strongly recommended text, and is available at The Woodturning School for $25.
