(Fri, 06 Nov 2009 All Day) This comprehensive course will offer a solid foundation in the field skills involved in handling a desert survival situation. Topics include: survival psychology, heat-related injuries, natural and improvised shelters, water location and procurement, basic map-reading and navigation, solar stills, signaling methods, primitive and modern firemaking skills, edible and poisonous plants, and desert hazards such as snakes, scorpions, and flash floods. Typically held in the Cottonwood and the Central Arizona region.

This is given as a 3 Day Course. Cost: $425

Price includes group camping, instruction, and two meals a day. Participants may bring any gear (tents, sleeping bags, etc...) that they need to be comfortable.

Join professional trapper Jerry Ward and survival instructor Tony Nester for 5-days of instruction covering all aspects of trapping and hunting.

This hands-on course is held at our new basecamp in the canyons near Bluff, Utah. Each day will allow practice and application of realistic food procurement methods.

With guidance from Jerry and Tony, you will learn to set a proper trapline, participate on daily hunts, refine tracking skills, and learn firsthand what's involved in putting meat on the table.
