Transp.& Smart Growth Committee

(Wed, 11 Nov 2009 7 PM - 9 PM CST)
We explore social, economic, community and environmental consequences of transportation investments by governments and of transportation choices by individuals. We also explore the consequences of urban sprawl (poorly planned, automobile-dependent development) and the connections between land use and transportation. We advocate comprehensive solutions such as diversified and integrated land use ("smart growth") and balance and integration among transportation modes. One of the Sierra Club's four national priorities is stopping sprawl. For more info or to verify time and place, call Ginger Harris at 314-994-7106.
