All members of the Gilead Congregational Church are called to the Annual Meeting to be held on Sunday, November 1st, in the Sanctuary following the 10:00 a.m. service of worship (approximately 11:30 a.m.) for the purposes of:

1.        Accepting the Annual Reports of Board and Committees;
2.        Electing Officers and Board and Committee Members;
3.        Approving the 2010 budget;
4.        Conducting any other business of the Church.

The study will begin on October 12th and run for eight weeks through November 30th. The first week will be an introduction. In succeeding weeks, participants willread assigned portions of Acts each week on their own in advance of the weekly classes. We'll discuss what we've read at each class, moving through the entire book of Acts. Please bring a Bible (Revised Standard Version (RSV), New Revised Standard Version (NRSV), or New International Version (NIV) are recommended). Other materials will be provided. Pasty Bjorling, our new Associate Conference Minister for Generosity Ministries for the Connecticut Conference, will be leading this study. Patsy earned a Master of Divinity degree in 2004, graduating with concentrations in Bible and church history/theology. Patsy lives in Hebron and is joining our church in September. We welcome Reverend Graham S. Robinson as our guest preacher this morning. Rev. Robinson has served as the Senior Pastor of Westminster Presbyterian Church for the past ten years. Along the way he has enjoyed lecturing at Yale Divinity School, preaching for the Evangelical Church of the Dominican Republic, and being an assistant coach for the Men's Varsity Soccer Team at Trinity University and also his boys' mighty mites recreational teams in West Hartford. His interests include running the Manchester Thanksgiving Day Road Race, tennis, the Waldensian Community in Italy, trying to stay one step ahead of his three boys, and eating Ben and Jerry's Ice-Cream with his wife, Jodi.

Rev. Esslinger is preaching at Westminster Presbyterian Church this morning.
