Lunch & Learn Series: 'Ergonomics: What You Need to Know'

    Thursday May 15
    11:30 am - 1 pm

200 University Street, Seattle, WA 98101

Have you ever had back pain after a day at your desk?
Has someone in your office had carpal tunnel surgery?
     Is your work chair comfortable?
For answers to these problems and more, come to the Lunch and Learn in May!

Our speaker is ergonomic expert Vincent Wang, who is a board certified ergonomics professional with a Master of Science in Human Factors and Ergonomics from Cornell University. Among other interests, his research has focused on the usability evaluation of alternative keyboard systems. Vincent has extensive experience in the areas of ergonomic program development, workstation evaluation and training in office, industrial, and lab settings.

As project lead for New York City's Department of Health and Mental Hygiene's 2-year office ergonomics project, Vincent coordinated training sessions and assessments for more than three thousand employees. Results showed a 50% drop in discomfort levels across 18 body regions. Throughout this effort, Vincent developed a suite of practitioner-level online assessment tools designed to aid with data collection and analysis. Vincent is based in San Francisco, CA and is a member of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society.
Come hear Vincent and bring your questions!
