There are numerous misconceptions about leadership. Researchers have been studying leadership for more than 100 years. So, we know much about leaders and what makes them effective, but do you? The construct of leadership is complex, and we know the building blocks for success.

In this program, you will learn the 5 myths of leadership to test your awareness of the truths. By becoming aware of these concepts, you are building the foundation for your development as an effective leader.
     Leaders are born.
Leadership and management are the same.
     Leaders lead and followers follow.
     Leadership is gender specific.
     Leadership development programs are ineffective.
Social skills are not necessary for business.
One myth to debunk right away is that leadership is mysterious and we don't know much about it. Not true! Leadership development is a continuous process and devoting time and energy to your personal development as a leader does pay off!

New Members' Breakfast By Special Invitation Only

    Thursday May 28
    7:30 pm - 9 pm

    The Edgewater Hotel
2411 Alaskan Way, Seattle, WA 98121, USA

The Greater Seattle Chapter of IFMA is having a New Members' Breakfast, and you are invited!

Time: 7:30 AM to 9 AM

    Where:
    The Edgewater Hotel
2411 Alaskan Way, Seattle, WA 98121

    Details

We'll start with registration, coffee, and networking at 7:30, and begin our breakfast and presentation at 8:00. You should be out by 9:15, give or take. There is no charge for this event; this may be the first and last time you get to attend a program or event at no charge!

Beyond sharing a pleasant breakfast together, the purpose of our gathering is two-fold: we've put a short presentation together that is designed to help you get the highest value out of your IFMA Greater Seattle Chapter membership; and we'll introduce you to many of the chapter officers and board members who are the best sources of FM information and education around. Part of the presentation will be an outline of our upcoming programs and we'll have time to answer your questions.

In order to be good stewards of the chapter's resources, we need a critical mass of attendees and an accurate headcount. Thus, we need you to RSVP today.

Please make every effort to fulfill your commitment to attend. We understand that things come up at work, but once the breakfast count is in, the chapter is charged whether you show up or not.

We hope to see you there!
