Disasters can happen anywhere, often with little or no warning. Is your business prepared? For answers to these questions and more, come to the July Lunch and Learn!
The American Red Cross responds to approximately 70,000 disasters in the USA every year, ranging from home fires that affect a single family to hurricanes that affect tens of thousands, to earthquakes that impact millions. In these events, the American Red Cross provides shelter, food, health and mental health services to help families and entire communities get back on their feet.
Speaker: Ashley Hill, Individual and Community Preparedness Specialist, American Red Cross
On a regular day, Ashley helps people, businesses, and communities prepare for disasters large and small. On disaster days, she helps with responses like Hurricane Sandy and the Oso mudslide. Ashley is a member of King County's Vulnerable Populations Operations Workgroup, a liaison to the Seattle Neighborhood Emergency Communication Hubs, and a Community Emergency Responder for the city of Seattle.
