Tonic Sol Fa concert

(Sat, 07 Nov 2009 4 PM - 10 PM CST) The nationally renowned a cappella group Tonic Sol Fa will be performing two shows at the Lyric Theatre at 4 and 7:30 p.m.

A stuffed pork chop dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. Tickets for the meal are available for either after the afternoon show or before the evening show.

Tickets for the meal and show are $30.00 each. Tickets for show only are $15.00 in advance and $20.00 at the door. They are available at the Lyric Theatre, 44 Road Stop, Platte Chamber Office and the Platte Food Center.

Nov. 13-16 -- Couples Retreat

They soon discover that participation in the resort's couples therapy is not optional. Suddenly, their group-rate vacation comes at a price. What follows is a hilarious look at real world problems faced by all couples. Rated PG-13.

Nov. 20-23 -- Law Abiding Citizen

Movie -- Clyde Shelton is an upstanding family man whose wife and daughter are brutally murdered during a home invasion. When the killers are caught, Nick Rice, a hotshot prosecutor, is assigned to the case. Over his objections, Nick is forced by his boss to offer one of the suspects a light sentence in exchange for testifying against his accomplice. Fast forward ten years. The man who got away with murder is found dead and Clyde Shelton admits his guilt. Then he issues a warning to Nick: Either fix the flawed justice system that failed his family, or key players in the trial will die. Soon Shelton follows through on his threats, orchestrating from his jail cell a string of diabolical assassinations that can be neither predicted nor prevented. Only Nick can stop the killing, and to do so he must outwit this brilliant sociopath in a contest of wills in which even the smallest misstep means death. With his own family now in Shelton's crosshairs, Nick finds himself in a desperate race against time, facing a deadly adversary who's always one step ahead. Rated R.
