Beginner/Gentle Yoga - Meeting Room A/B

7:00 - 8:45 p.m. Meeting Room A/B The Beginner/Gentle Yoga class is open to adults 14 years and older. This class is appropriate for students new to yoga as well as seasoned practitioners seeking a more gentle class. Classes include foundational yoga postures moving at a slower pace, basic breathing practices (pranayama), deep relaxation, and basic yoga teachings. No previous experience necessary, however all levels are welcome. The Beginner Class meets on Monday evenings from 7:00 to 8:30 in the meeting room. The eight week fall session of the beginner yoga class will start on October 19 and continue for 7 more classes on October 21, November 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, December 7 and 14. There will be no class on October 26 due to the Friends Book Sale. The October 19th meeting will be held in Program Room 2 (Octagon).

Registration will begin on October 3, 2009 at the Information Desk. A fee of $80.00 for the 8 week session is payable at the time of registration. Payment by check made payable to the "South Brunswick Public Library" or cash is acceptable. There will be no refunds unless the class is cancelled by the instructor. Please wear loose-fitting, comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat and a large towel or small blanket. (No exercise mats please.) This class will be taught by Nancy Gennat, a Soma Yoga trained and certified instructor.

Digital Photography Class - Program Room 2 (Octagon)

The class will meet in Program Room 2, the octagonal meeting room off he Children's Department. The class, taught by local artist and educator Leslie Gevins, is designed for an adult audience who already owns a point-and-shoot digital camera (not for someone who is still shopping for a camera and wants purchasing recommendations.) Bring your fully charged camera, the owner's operation manual (the complete manual, not the abbreviated version) and any accessories, cables and memory cards that came with the camera with you to the first class. If your camera is battery operated, bring spare batteries. This is for point-and-shoot cameras only; please no DSLR cameras.

Intermediate Yoga - Meeting Room A/B

7:00 - 8:45 p.m. - Meeting Room A/B Intermediate Yoga class is appropriate for students with a strong foundation in yoga (no beginners please). Classes will explore more variations of advanced yoga postures (asana) and flow sequences (vinyasa), various breathing practices (pranayama), meditation, deep relaxation, and yoga philosophy and teachings. Previous yoga experience required. The Intermediate Class meets for eight sessions from 7:00 until 8:30 every Thursday evening. The fall session begins on October 15 and continues for 7 more sessions on October 29, November 5, 12, 19, December 3, 10 and 17. (There will be no class on October 22, due to conflict with the Friends Book Sale)

This book, a Christmas Mystery, is the next episode in his light-hearted Cassie O'Malley Mystery series. Perhaps you remember the second book in this series, "A Minor Case of Murder." In the latest story, Cassie O'Malley, tabloid reporter, finds herself covering the shopping mall at Christmas. She wants nothing to do with the assignment until a murder occurs in the men's room and she finds herself in the middle of a family vendetta. Jeff Markowitz will be signing copies of his book, which you can purchase with cash or check after the program. Some of the proceeds of the sale of the book at this event will go to the Friends of the Library to help fund our programs here in the library. (Mon, 30 Nov 2009 7 PM EST) 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Quiet Study. The Library Board of Trustees will for the a joint meeting for November and December on November 30, 2009, as announced on the bulletin board in the library and published in the Sentinal and the South Brunswick Post, as required by the New Jersey Open Public Meetings Act. The meeting is open to the public and the Board welcomes input on issues pertaining to the operation of the library. The Board concludes each meeting with an Executive Session during which the public is excused.

The meeting previously scheduled for November 12 and Thursday, December 3 have been consolidated into this final meeting for 2009.
