It is characterized by a distinctive elastic look that results from its basic extension-compression technique of partner connection. Within the spectrum of partner dances, WCS is one of the most improvisational. WCS may be danced to almost any music in 4/4 time. Such diverse musical genres as soul, funk, Rock and Roll, pop, hip-hop, and disco may be found in a typical evening of WCS dancing.

WCS Level 1 Series is an introduction to the basic 6 and 8 count patterns. Classes can be purchased as a monthly series only, and can be repeated anytime at no additional charge.

Cost: 4 week series $40 pre-registered or $50 at the door (Nov 2-23). Register for the Int/Adv series and get 50% OFF the Intermediate series.

For individuals or couples who:

- have always wanted, but never had the time or opportunity, to learn to dance,

- used to dance, have not done it for a while and want to shake the rust

off, or

- have an event coming up (wedding, company party, etc.) at which they would like to dance.

No partner required.

(Thu, 26 Nov 2009 8 PM - 11:30 PM EST) the SwinGallery is a once a week dance venue inside Step-N-Out Studio where local Lindy Hoppers (Terry, Kandy, Jesse, Greta) host a one hour beginner lesson in East Coast or Six-Count Swing from 8:00 p.m. till 9:00 p.m. At 9:00 p.m. we open up the dance floor for your dancing pleasure and play big band, oldies, jump blues and even popular dance music. NO PARTNER is every required. No Smoking. All ages are welcomed.
