Asheville Arts Center, 308 Merrimon Avenue, Asheville NC 28801
Members $5 Non-Members $6 Student rates available with ID.
This is a great opportunity to practise your tango figures
and take advantage of this wonderful practise space.

(This is next to the Fire Station, behind the Grace Post Office on Merrimon Avenue.)

This is a great opportunity to practise what you have learned in your classes and workshops and socialize with other members of the Tango Asheville dance community.

'The Next Step' class 6pm at Eleven on Grove- Tangogypsies

Tuesday- Sept 15th- begins the "NEXT STEP" class at 11 Grove. 6pm sharp. This class is for experienced dancers only! Please see the suggested prerequisites listed below. If you have questions whether this class is for you, please contact me directly before the class date.

Arrive 6pm- $8/6pm class only, $15 all evening, students $8
Arrive 7p- $7/7pm class only, $10 all evening, students $5
After 8pm- $5, social dance (allowed to attend both floors of social dance venues )

Suggested Prerequisites for “The Next Step” Classes– 6pm
Demonstrate the following skills
1. Staying attentive/connected w/ partner every step
2. Walking w/ partner in parallel
3. Walking “outside” of partner to both sides, w/ “disassociation”
4. Navigate crossed/parallel systems, walking
5. Turns to both sides
6. Simple changes of direction, with pivots ( crossed /parallel)
7. Navigate la crusada
8. Dynamic Embrace (Move from close to open embrace and back within the dance)
9. Rock steps
10. Basic musicality
11. Attendance to at least 2 cycles of Tango Tuesdays “Fundamentals”,or prior approval from Karen
