In this easy and fun class students will choose from distinctive copper shapes (leaves, birds, fish etc) and vibrant colored enamels to make unique pendants. Individuals will learn to sift glass enamels onto copper, and fire the creations in a kiln. Great gift giving ideas. No prior experience necessary, all supplies included for 2 pendants. Fee: $60.00

The Accende Ensemble (Christian Zamora, violin; Chihsuan Yang, violin; Francisco Herrera, viola; Anna Steinhoff, cello; and Sunshine Simmons, clarinet), one of Chicago's newest music groups, showcases works by leading contemporary composers, while also performing the staples of classical music. The group's name, taken from the Latin text used by Gustav Mahler in his Eighth Symphony, reflects the ensemble's misson: Accende lumen sensibus (kindle a light in our senses).

Brown Bag Lunch Programs are free and open to the public. They begin at 12:05 and end at 12:55 p.m. Bring a brown bag lunch. Or, if you prefer to eat early, late, or not at all, please join us anyway. Coffee and tea will be available for a 50-cent donation.

The NMM's public programming is underwritten by the South Dakota Arts Council through the S. D. Department of Tourism and State Development and the National Endowment for the Arts, the USD Student Association, and the members of The Stradivari Society, a fund-raising initiative of the NMM's Board of Trustees.

All events are held in the Arne B. Larson Concert Hall at the National Music Museum on the campus of USD.
