Family Fun Night (Woo-Hoo Wednesday)

(Wed, 04 Nov 2009 6 PM - 7:30 PM CST) Family Fun Night (Woo-Hoo Wednesday) is First Wednesdays of each month from 6:00 - 7:30 PM in the Volker Room. "Beloved Community" is this year's theme. Contact Jeff Stone or Carla Craft for ideas and suggestions and to volunteer. · Woo-Hoo Wednesday is a multi-age gathering at our church to provide pizza, fun, and fellowship on the first Wednesday of each month from 6-7:30 p.m. We welcome members/friends to share their talents with an activity that is suited for tots to teens. We recognize that it could be challenging to ensure that the activity suits everyone, so anyone not interested in participating is welcome to quietly socialize in a corner of the room.· At this time, we do not have childcare workers on Wednesday nights, so babysitting will not be provided. Parents are expected to monitor their own children and are encouraged to join in the activity too! The playground will be closed unless the activity is scheduled to take place there, or if two or more adults volunteer to supervise all children on the playground. · Donations are accepted for pizza, drinks, and salad.

For those wishing to learn about our church and our denomination, we periodically offer Inquirers/New UU classes. These classes are an excellent way to learn about Unitarian Universalism and the history of our church here in Birmingham, and to meet others who are exploring a liberal spiritual community. For those who choose to do so, there will be an opportunity to become a member of the congregation the Sunday after the classes end.

Current members wanting to learn more about the church and the denomination are also welcome to attend.

UUCB Casserole Drive

We are inaugurating a once-a-month casserole drive for Pathways, a local shelter for homeless women and children. Here's how it works. We ask you to make a casserole (in a disposable and freezer-safe pan wrapped in tin foil for freezing) and bring it to church on the third Sunday of the month. We then transport all the casseroles to Pathways and viola, they have meals for their guests for two weeks or more.

Worship Partners committee meeting

Search Committee Presentation and Discussion

You will have a chance to ask questions and we will recognize some of the people who have really gone the extra mile in helping us gather and summarize the information. We also plan to make much of the material that has been prepared for the congregational record and packet available so that anyone who wishes to can read it. Please plan to attend the presentation and discussion on November 22 nd .

Firehouse Shelter Supper
