One of the interesting features of
localendar.com is "event aggregation". localendar not only lets
webmasters create free calendars, but also "publish" events on those
calendars to a searchable database. From the
site you can search for
events taking place near a particular town. Very useful if you're on
a business trip or visiting relatives. You can also create links to published searches, a nice feature which I'm leveraging below. These links will display the results of a live search for events taking place within 45 minutes of Westport. I'm not restricting the search by any particular category, so results are likely to be varied. The events you see are pulled from the calendars of individuals, schools, clubs, churches, etc. The content isn't created by localendar, just hosted by it. So it's always a good idea to confirm the details of an event before planning your day around it. |
